What services does Roberta’s Place offer for domestic violence survivors?
Roberta’sPlace offers a wide range of trauma-informed services to support survivors ofdomestic violence. These include:
Emergency shelter in a safe, confidential, and family-friendly environment Crisis intervention and 24/7 access to trained advocates Safety planning and personalized case management Legal advocacy, including help with restraining orders and court support Transportation assistance to appointments ,court, and services Support groups and individualized emotional support Parenting classes and child advocacy services Help with housing, employment, and access to resources
How can I get help or access the shelter’s services?

Our trained advocates will listen, support you, and help you explore your options — including shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, or other services we provide.
You do not need to be in immediate danger to call. Whether you’re ready to leave or just need someone to talk to, we are here for you. All services are free and confidential.

Is there a cost to stay at the shelter or receive counseling services?
No. All services at Roberta’s Place — including emergency shelter, advocacy, support groups, and counseling referrals — are completely free of charge to survivors and their families.
We believe everyone deserves safety, healing, and support without financial barriers. You will never be asked to pay for any of the services we provide.
What steps should I take if I need to leave an abusive situation immediately?
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are able to safely make a call, contact Roberta’sPlace 24/7 at 505-287-7724. Our trained advocates can help you:
Create a personalized safety plan Arrange safe transportation if possible Access our emergency shelter Connect with law enforcement, legal support, or other urgent resources If you can, try to bring important documents (ID, birth certificates, medication, etc.), but your safety comes first —don’t delay leaving if it’s unsafe to gather items.

Does Roberta’s Place provide services for children?
Yes. Roberta’s Place offers specialized support for children who have experienced or been exposed to domestic violence. We provide:
Safe shelter for families, including child-friendly spaces Child advocacy to help children feel heard and supported Trauma-informed parenting support to help caregivers navigate healing Enrichment activities and emotional support tailored to children’s needs Assistance with school transitions, custody, and visitation concerns
How can I support Roberta’s Place through donations or volunteering?
We believe healing happens as a family, and we’re here to support both survivors and their children throughout their journey.
You can support Roberta’s Place in the following ways: Make a monetary donation online or by mail to help fund critical services like shelter, transportation, and housing assistance. Donate supplies such as hygiene products, cleaning items, non-perishable food, or new bedding. Sponsor a family during the holidays or back-to-school season.
